STANDING OVATION!

Standing ovation!

The cast of "La Traviata" at the Pavilion Theatre last night received a standing ovation from an audience overcome with surprise and delight at the superb quality of every aspect of the production. A triumphant return to his native city after more than a decade for Lyric Tenor Donal J. Byrne who has been busy singing in the opera houses of Europe, most recently n La Scala Milan.
Another triumph for Soprano Sinead Campbell Wallace who made her debut as Violetta last night. A proud night for Glasthule Opera as no doubt this will be the first of many for Sinead.
Completing the trio of principals, one of Glasthule's favourites Cork Baritone Brendan Collins gave one of his finest performances as Germont.

Opera in the Park

On Sunday June 5th some of the cast sang a short programme of favourite arias in the People´s Park, Dun Laoghaire to a large and very appreciative audience.

Yesterday, for the repeat performance it was "Opera in the RAIN!" But, they gave it their best with everyone sheltering under brollies. The singing was superb and much appreciated. Some pics on Facebook.

Only the Dress Rehearsals to go now before the first performances of "La Traviata" on Wednesday and "The Magic Flute" on Thursday.
